Rah-Rah-Ah Ah Ahhh, Romaaa Ro-Ma-Maaa!

As i mentioned before, i went to Rome on a university trip last week and had a great time.
We visited the Fendi and Valentino Head Offices and show rooms, tried on beautiful fur coats, watched made-to-measure couture being made, rooted through the archives, saw incredible textile mood boards and basically had a great time.
On the second day, i assisted stylist Jennifer Anyan on a photo shoot at the Sorelle Fontana Foundation, using dresses worn by legends such as Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly and Liz Taylor. It was incredible, handling these dresses, knowing some of my ultimate heroines had worn them. My friend Zara modeled for the shoot, and seeing her in one dress, i got a touch teary eyed because she looked beautiful. It was as if she she was in completely the wrong era.
We also went to a conference where Amanda Triossi, (the curator of 2009's Bulgari exhibition ''Between History and Etenrnity-1884-2009 125 years of Bvlgari') talked to us about the history of Bulgari and shared a few interesting stories.
Now...here comes a rant. I did say there would be plenty on this blog!!!
It was a pity that some of the second year students seemed to find this boring after half an hour, and i was really quite annoyed and embarrassed when they started playing rock-paper-scissors and snorting with laughter whilst the talk went on. They must have thought me and my friends were moany gits, but in the coming months when they go for internships and even jobs, if a meeting starts to get slightly boring, are they going to start playing rock-paper-scissors? It is just a respect thing at the end of the day.
A lot of the second years were lovely, and seemed really friendly girls. But there were certain squealy, obnoxious, wag-ish, orange faced types that left us feeling like we should apply for a slot on the programme 'Grumpy Old Women' with the amount of conversations we started with "did that girl really just say what i think she said...?"
Rant over. Phew!
Rome is a lovely City, and i would love to go again. Here are a few shots from my time there...
