Beauty Know-How

A few people have asked about whether or not i would be talking more about make up and skin care,(probably because of the use of the word 'Beauty' in the name of my blog!) so i thought i would give it a go!
Being a make up artist, i am passionate about skin care and helping people find the right look and products for them. I come across many new and wonderful products and techniques and would love to share them. So, here goes!

Cleansing, Toning and Moisturising

First things first, lets start with the most important part of your beauty routine, the part that often gets neglected and over-looked; Cleansing, toning and moisturising.
You can buy the most expensive beauty products on the market, but un-nourished and dehydrated skin will render them pointless.
The first step to clear, glowing, beautiful skin is the prepping.
For average skin, my personal favourite has to be Dr Hauschka. The cleansing milk is gentle enough for even sensitive skin and smells wonderful, leaving your skin feeling soft and supple.

The facial toner stimulates the moisturising processes of the skin and gives a clean, revitalising effect while the added bonus of Witch Hazel and Anthyliss extracts soothe the skin and improve elasticity.

While i do like certain moisturisers (Olay’s Total Effects is great value for money and is fantastic for skin in your twenties as it contains SPF 15) i must admit over the last year i have become a facial oil convert.
Many people would think that putting a facial oil onto their skin in place of a moisturiser would leave their face looking as though you could fry chips on it. This is not the case. In fact, facial oils work better than moisturiser at locking in moisture and keeping your nautural oils at bay.

The Dr Hauschka facial oil is a firm favourite of mine, as is the beautiful smelling Ila Face Oil for Glowing Radiance. Although both are a little pricey, they will last you a long time and you will see the benefits straight away.
